Punch Is on BeardFM's List of iPhone Duo Apps
Punch is on BeardFM's list of iPhone Duo apps. Stephen Robles, who runs beardfm.app, gathered 656 apps whose developers say they are ready for iPhone Duo, from their replies to his posts on social media. Punch was added on October 25 under Business, listed as "Tracks your team's hours from punch-in to payroll-ready, with no spreadsheets or paper timesheets."
If you or your crew carry an iPhone Duo, or are thinking about one, that list is a good place to start, and Punch is on it.
What "ready for iPhone Duo" means in Punch
Punch 4.2, released on October 22, was the iPhone Duo release. The same app runs three ways, depending on how the phone is held.
Closed, it is Punch on an iPhone. The outer display runs the same app the same way it runs on every iPhone today: punch in, punch out, start and end lunch, see your week.
Open, Punch fills the inner display. Turned sideways on iPhone Duo, as on iPad, every screen uses two columns, so a manager's Dashboard, Approvals and Reports use the whole display instead of one phone-width strip.
Half folded and held upright, nothing sits in the fold. The punch screen, the lock screen and sign-in split into the top and bottom halves, so the button you need is never under the crease.
Where to get it
Punch is on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, and at punchapp.io in the browser. One account works on all three, every feature is on every plan, and the first 14 days are free with no card required.
If you build apps and yours is ready for the Duo, the list is gathered from developers' replies on social media; the page at beardfm.app/duo-apps says how.
