- How does the 14-day free trial work?
- Every new organization starts on a 14-day free trial of the Punch Team tier (10 seats). Full features, no charge during the trial. Subscribe before the 14 days end to keep going; if you don't, your org goes into a grace period and your team can finish any in-progress shifts but new ones are blocked until you pick a plan.
- Why is pricing per-organization instead of per-user?
- Most small field teams are 5 to 30 people, often with multiple owners or co-owners. Per-user pricing punishes you for having a co-founder. Seat-based per-org pricing keeps the math simple: pick the plan that covers your active employees + managers and you're done.
- Same features at every tier, really?
- Really. GPS-verified punch-in, shift approvals, weekly or bi-weekly timesheets, mark-paid by payment method, exports to Excel / PowerPoint, the full record of who decided what, every tier gets all of it. The only thing that scales is how many employees + managers your org can have punching in.
- What happens if I exceed my seat cap?
- Existing employees keep working, we never lock anyone out for an owner's billing choice. What gets blocked is creating a new join code while you're at or over cap. You'll see a paywall prompt asking you to upgrade or archive an existing employee. The math: active memberships count; archived / disabled ones don't.
- Can I downgrade later?
- Yes. Downgrade from wherever you originally subscribed: in the iOS app or on web at Account → Manage subscription (Stripe Customer Portal). The change applies at the end of your current billing period. If you'd be over the new tier's cap on downgrade day, you'll need to archive employees down to the new cap first.
- Monthly or annual, which should I pick?
- Annual gives you ~2 months free on every tier: twelve months for the price of ten. Pick monthly if you're testing the waters; pick annual if you've decided Punch is your time-tracking system.
- How do I subscribe from the web?
- Sign up at punchapp.io, head to Account → Subscription, and pick a tier and billing cadence. Stripe Checkout handles the card, then you're returned to your Dashboard. Manage your plan anytime from Account → Manage subscription (Stripe Customer Portal: change tier, swap monthly/annual, update card, download invoices, or cancel). Prefer iOS? The same Subscribe + Manage flow lives in the Punch iOS app. Pick whichever you'd rather have on file.
- How do seats work?
- Each plan includes a set number of seats — the active members in your organization. Pending invites and archived members don't count, so you're never charged for someone who left.
- Can I pay per job or per visit instead of hourly?
- Yes. Per-location pay is a third pay type alongside hourly and salary: a set rate per completed visit, with site-specific overrides that beat the default. Built for photographers, cleaners, pet services, landscapers — anyone who prices the job, not the hour. Included on every plan.
- Do you offer any discounts?
- Yes. If your business also runs CRMb, our CRM and scheduling companion, an active CRMb subscription takes 25% off your Punch subscription on the web, applied automatically for as long as both stay active.
